Dawn Yates is a Louisville, KY and Costa Rica-based professional sculptor and multidisciplinary artist. Holding a BFA from Murray State University, she creates life-size public bronze statues (such as the Charles P. Farnsley monument on Main Street pictured above), mixed-media papercrete works, and also paints.

Yates is a founding member of ENID, and has also long been affiliated with the Bright Foundry. Passionate about historic preservation in the arts, she spent years working on a life-size sculpture and maquette to honor pioneering international Louisville sculptor Enid Yandell. Outside of Kentucky, her work and projects have extended to Costa Rica and the artist residency spaces at Eve’s Garden in Texas. Her versatile portfolio also ranges to unconventional mediums like recycled bottles and large-scale, outdoor architectural features
